The Detroit Pistons (42-34) will visit the Toronto Raptors (28-49) on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Currently holding the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, the Pistons are aiming to solidify their playoff positioning. They have lost their last two games, including a 119-103 defeat to the Oklahoma City Thunder on April 2. In that game, Tim Hardaway Jr. led the team with 23 points, while All-Star guard Cade Cunningham was sidelined due to a bruised left calf. The Raptors have been eliminated from playoff contention and are focusing on developing their younger talent. They are on a two-game losing streak, with their most recent loss being a 112-103 defeat to the Portland Trail Blazers on April 3. In that matchup, RJ Barrett returned to the lineup and contributed 18 points. Detroit Pistons: Cade Cunningham is averaging 25.7 points, 9.2 assists, and 6.1 rebounds per game. His participation is uncertain due to a calf injury. Jalen Duren is contributing 11.8 points and 10.3 rebounds per game, providing a strong presence in the paint. Toronto Raptors are led by RJ Barrett with 21.5 points per game, along with 6.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists. Scottie Barnes is adding 19.2 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, contributing versatility on both ends of the floor. The Pistons are averaging 115.4 points per game (11th in NBA), 47.6% field goal percentage while the Raptors are averaging 110.8 points per game (23rd in NBA), 45.8% field goal percentage. The Pistons allow 113.2 points per game (14th in NBA), opponents shooting 46.0% and the Raptors allow 115.3 points per game (19th in NBA), opponents shooting 46.5%. The Pistons are motivated to snap their losing streak and strengthen their playoff position. The availability of Cade Cunningham could significantly influence their offensive performance. The Raptors, focusing on player development, may rest key veterans, potentially impacting their competitiveness. Given the Pistons' playoff aspirations and the Raptors' current trajectory I'll take the Pistons even if Cunningham doesn't play. Take Detroit.

Thunder -5.5
The Thunder are the move here. Oklahoma City continues to win and continues to cover. They’ve covered 11 in a row and 14 of their last 15 as they’re just dominating opponents right now. This is a good matchup once again for them as they’ve won 7 of 10 against the Rockets. The Thunder are deeper and just playing much better. Grab them here to continue their covering streak. Friday NBA Free play. My selection is on Denver minus the points over Golden State at 10 pm ET on Friday.
The Nuggets find themselves in a prime bounce-back spot after suffering consecutive 'upset' losses against Minnesota and San Antonio. Given their position in the Western Conference standings, they can’t afford to let another game slip away. Denver has been idle since Wednesday, which should work in its favor, while Golden State played a tough game last night in Los Angeles, securing its fourth straight win (3-0-1 ATS). However, that victory was aided by an off shooting night from the Lakers, something the Nuggets aren’t likely to replicate.
Denver has already proven it can win in San Francisco, taking the last meeting between these teams with a 114-105 victory on March 17th. The Nuggets have the personnel to take advantage of Golden State’s fatigue, and with fresh legs, they should control the pace and exploit the Warriors' defensive vulnerabilities.
Take Denver. Projected score: Nuggets 116, Warriors 107.
